Get ready to let loose on fresh Northern Maine snow with Shin Pond Village. Guests will explore Maine on a state-of-the-art Polaris Snowmobile for a 120-mile, round-trip adventure. The first 30 minutes of the tour are on pristine, groomed trails that bring guests to a historical Maine sporting camp, over 140 years old, where they will have the opportunity to load up on fuel and food. Guests will then set course for the Ghost Trains in Maine's Allagash Wilderness Waterway, a 92.5-mile-long protected area. Guests will get their adrenaline pumping as they glide across 13 miles of ice on Chamberlin Lake before exploring the abandoned trains from the 1800s. These trains were used to transport up to 6,500 cords of pulpwood per week through a system of rivers and lakes to mills in Bangor and beyond. The eerie rail cars, tracks, and coal-burning furnaces can still be spotted in the area to this day. Zip back in history and explore the untouched territory of Northern Maine.
