Meet Blaine

Est. 2016

Although I literally grew up “working” here, it wasn’t until graduating in 2001, trying College, and enjoying jobs in the Powersports and Marine Sales world that I can say my actual life's work began here in 2016.
While I was working for others and starting a family, my parents were considering the next phase for Shin Pond Village as they approached retirement age. After learning we were expecting our 3rd child in in 2016, I was able to convince Elka that the time was right to “try” the move to Shin Pond and see if the next phase of Shin Pond Village was for us. In the fall of 2015, we built the cabin, Baxter’s Place to move into. It wasn't much later that we outgrew the cabin and moved into our home in 2018.

I’m ALWAYS considering and looking for ways to improve, grow, and continue Shin Pond Village. I’ll be honest, it’s my primary hobby though snowmobiling was and still should be. At this point, I’ll just consider myself a snowmobile legend. When not at SPV, I enjoy being close enough to the lake to get out on the pontoon boat with the family, dogs, and friends throughout the summer and going on vacations during our annual shutdowns.

Meet Elka

Est. 2015

My name is Elka, and I’ve been working at Shin Pond Village since 2015. I’m a proud mother of three wonderful children and two dogs that keep life busy and fun. I love spending time in the area with my family, boating, floating the river, and spotting moose. I love babies, cleaning, and pasta.

Meet Jennifer & Matt

Est. 2026

My name is Jennifer A. Maddox, married to Matt Maddox, we love working at home, building our homestead, snowmobiling of course, and living life. Matt started working at Shin Pond Village spring of 2025, and has snowmobiled here since 2020. I started working there recently. They are family-friendly, pet-friendly and Maine adventure-friendly as well as great people who make great food and have created a wonderful place to visit!

One of the main reasons we decided to move to Maine!

Meet Emily

Est. June of 2025

My husband and I purchased land on Upper Shin in 2020 and over the years, plugged away at building our camp that has now turned into our full-time home! We love the area for all the outdoor activities it has to offer: hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and hiking. We are very excited to welcome our first son May, 2026!  We also had our wedding photos done here at SPV because of the incredible view of Mt. Chase!

Meet Maddox

Est. 2020

Maddox is currently a freshman at Georgia Southern University, majoring in Business Management with a minor in Sales. She’s also a proud member of Chi Omega, where she’s developed a strong love for service and leadership! During her high school years, she worked 30+ hours a week at Shin Pond Village!

Nowadays, outside of school she loves long walks, impromptu trips, country concerts, and cheering on the Eagles during Southern game days.

While she’s still exploring all the opportunities ahead, she may one day step into a larger role and continue the legacy her family has worked so hard to build.

Meet Riley

Est. 2018

RILEY HERE… I grew up in Bangor and always loved coming to visit my favorite Aunt & Uncle in Shin Pond (Terry & Craig, of course!). In 2016, I was working at the Old Town Montessori School as an Assistant Elementary Teacher when I met and began dating a “Patten Boy.” After two years of traveling daily from Patten to Old Town, Terry convinced me to join the staff at Shin Pond Village; it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Ten years later in July of 2026, I married that “Patten Boy” AKA Tristan! I thoroughly enjoy working for and with my family! During my down time, you can find me on a snowmobile, hiking with my dog Rufus, or traveling anywhere that’s not Patten, ME, ha!

He was born and raised in Patten, ME and rarely leaves the area! During his free time, you can find him at Scraggly Lake, on his boat, fighting fires for Mt. Chase Fire Dept., or grooming trails for Bowlin Matagamon Snowmobile Club.

Meet Chelseay

Est. 2018

Chelseay is a part of our housekeeping team. If you’ve stayed with us in the past, you probably recognize her face! When she’s not cleaning cabins for Shin Pond Village, you can find her enjoying the outdoors or hiking Baxter State Park.

AKA Kiki

Kiki and Terry grew up together in Old Town and have been very best friends ever since! Kiki and her husband, Tim always dreamt of retiring in Shin Pond. After retiring from her job in the medical field to persue her dream, she quickly learned that her dream also included working for Shin Pond Village! In her free time, she enjoys crafting; the outdoors ONLY in spring, summer, and fall; her front porch; and her pup Milo.

Meet Vicki

Est. 2020

The famous “Friggen Frig!” and your favorite bar tender! Vicki operated the Shin Pond Pub from 2004-2020, when unfortunately she was forced to close due to Covid. She joined our team just a few months later when we added beer and liquor to our offerings! Throughout each calendar year, Ms. Vicki hosts multiple fundraisers and events to better our community. We are so grateful to have her as a vital part of our team! When she isn’t slinging drinks at the bar, you can find Vicki at home sipping on a glass of red wine, visiting with her family, or at her family camp on Upper Shin Pond.
